Welcoming Two Visionary Leaders to the Rosenbach Board

The Rosenbach has always thrived on the passion and expertise of those who believe in the power of literature, history, and ideas. Today, we’re delighted to share exciting news: Nina McNeely Diefenbach and Dr. Larry Deckelbaum have joined our Board of Directors. Their unique perspectives and impressive accomplishments promise to strengthen our mission and expand our reach.

A Champion for the Arts: Nina McNeely Diefenbach

Nina brings to the Rosenbach Board decades of experience in cultural leadership and philanthropy. After 34 years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Nina joined the Barnes Foundation in 2016 as Senior Vice President and Deputy Director for Advancement. There, she leads transformative fundraising efforts and oversees development, membership, and communications.

Her deep commitment to the arts and education is evident in her service as Trustee Emerita at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, and her leadership in women’s initiatives. Nina’s strategic vision and fundraising expertise will help the Rosenbach continue to grow as a vibrant cultural institution.

A Leader in Science and Innovation: Dr. Larry Deckelbaum

Larry’s professional life is rooted in science and innovation, but his heart has always been with libraries. As Past Board President of the Gladwyne Free Library, he has championed literacy, community engagement, and access to knowledge. Under his leadership, the library strengthened its fundraising and governance, ensuring that this beloved institution remains a vital resource for residents of Lower Merion.

Larry’s commitment to libraries reflects a belief that they are more than repositories of books—they are centers of connection and learning. His experience in governance and community building will be invaluable as the Rosenbach continues to expand its role as a cultural hub for Philadelphia and beyond.

Looking Ahead

Nina and Larry join the Rosenbach at a pivotal moment. As we expand programs, deepen scholarship, and welcome new visitors, their guidance will help us navigate challenges and seize opportunities. Together, we’ll continue to celebrate the written word and preserve the treasures that make the Rosenbach a cultural gem.

Please join us in welcoming Nina and Larry to the Rosenbach family. We look forward to the ideas, insights, and inspiration they will bring.
