Description

This holiday season, help the Rosenbach and the Winterthur Library mark the 250th birthday of Jane Austen with a Pride & Prejudice-themed tea party in the parlor and dining room of the historic Rosenbach townhome on beautiful Delancey Place in Philadelphia!

The program will begin with a special collection presentation in the atmospheric Rosenbach parlor, highlighting the British and American first editions of Pride & Prejudice, as well as design sources drawn from the collection of the Winterthur Library, which illuminate the aesthetics of country-house life in 18th and 19th-century Britain. Then, the group will meet Elizabeth Darcy (née Elizabeth Bennett), who will host us for a yuletide tea in the Rosenbach’s dining room. Mrs. Darcy will tell us about her experiences living with Mr. Darcy at Pemberley and discuss her holiday plans.
