Wild Things Whirligig
Performance
Go wild at the Rosenbach with a dynamic, interactive performance inspired by the wonderful works of Maurice Sendak. Created by Karen Saillant, Artistic Director of the International Opera Theater, this production weaves together classic characters and Sendak’s own inspirational figures, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Tickets for this popular performance are sold out. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Be sure to check out our workshops, which will never sell out!
Workshops (offered throughout the day, each day):
Story Songs
Get ready to clap your hands, stomp your feet, and groove to the beat! Philadelphia’s favorite storyteller Linda Goss will lead this energetic, call-and-response storytelling session!
Book Making for Children of All Ages
Sendak loves books, the Rosenbach loves books, and you do too, right? How about making your own book? Learn how to make an Origami Book, a Castle Book, and a collaborative Wishing Star Book with book artist Jude Robison.
Story Invention (Sunday only)
Do you like to make up stories with your friends? Alexander Stadler—author, illustrator and creator of the Beverly Billingsly series—will illustrate a group-driven story, on the spot! As you fill in the plot, Alex will bring the story to visual life, right before your eyes.
