Exhibition: The Dracula Notes

As you may already know, the Rosenbach Museum & Library holds the working notes for Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula. Neither a complete manuscript nor typescript, the notes document Stoker’s research, plotting, and ideas for the novel. . The notes also demonstrate how Stoker wrote while working as the theater and touring manager for the legendary nineteenth-century actor Henry Irving; one page is, in fact, hotel stationary of the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia. This year, some of Stoker’s notes will be exhibited during the Dracula Festival.

Admission charged (free for members).

Vampire Craze
The Rosenbach in the News

Thanks largely in part to the popularity of Elizabeth Kosotova's best-selling novel, The Historian, the Rosenbach has been in the news quite a bit lately. After the book came out, it seems like everyone wanted to know more about the infamous Vlad the Impaler. On August 26, the ABC network aired an hour-long featured on 20/20 called "Summer of the Vampire." On October 28, the A&E channel will be showing a 2-hour feature on Dracula. Stay tuned to the Rosenbach web site to find out when Elizabeth Kostova will be making a visit to the Rosenbach.
