Seminar

A Seminar on Books and Prints

Friend or Faux: Imitation and Invention, from Innocent to Fraudulent.
12:00PM - 2:00PM

This seminar is the fourth and final in a series of four which complement the museum’s special exhibition Friend or Faux. This seminar on books and prints will be led by Donald H. Cresswell, The Philadelphia Print Shop, and David Szewczyk and Cynthia Davis Buffington, Principals, The Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts Company.

The Rosenbach’s newest exhibition, Friend or Faux: Imitation and Invention from Innocent to Fraudulent explores the notion of authenticity in the Rosenbach’s collections. How do we know what is real, what is fake and what is in the gray area between? Experts often go through an elaborate series of steps in order to understand the history of an object and the physical aspects of it that relate to its potential intellectual or market value. Join us for one or all of these seminars to find out how they do it.

This event is free with Museum admission. Registration is requested. Please call Mary Duffy, Development Associate (215)732-1600 ext. 123 or email rsvprsvp [at] rosenbach [dot] orgr (rsvp [at] rosenbach [dot] org.)
