Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 3:00pm

Explore books and broadsides from colonial and early 19th-century Philadelphia that reflects aspects of daily life from the humble to the momentous. Visitors will see an 1810 children’s primer, almanacs, and a cookbook with helpful tips on doing laundry, baking delicious eel pie, and protecting one’s family from cholera. From the Rosenbach’s extensive collection of broadsides we will learn about the local uproar caused by the Boston Tea Party and early warnings of the impending British occupation of this city.
