Words in Bloom

Nathalie Anderson
03/14/2011 - 04/11/2011

Words in Bloom, now in its 10th year, is an annual outreach program led by Rosenbach Poet-in-Residence, Nathalie Anderson.

The course took place at the Stiffel Senior Center in South Philadelphia and met weekly throughout March and April. Nathalie encouraged the participants to find inspiration not only from the work of other writers but from elements of the everyday, whether it be a frustrating experience with public transportation or a mischievous but lovable grandchild. Nathalie Anderson is beloved by her pupils at Stiffel and as participant Harry Azoff noted, “there are not many experiences like this for Seniors and I’d like to thank both the Rosenbach and Nathalie for not forgetting us.”

The Stiffel Senior Center closed in July 2011.

This project was generously supported by the Hirsig Family Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation and the Virigina and Harvey Kimmel Arts-Education Fund.
