The Rosenbach serves as the repository for the work of author and illustrator Maurice Sendak (1928 - ), creator of some of the world's best-loved children's books. The collection comprises over 10,000 preliminary and final drawings, manuscripts, and rare editions from more than 80 books. In the Maurice
Sendak Gallery visitors can view rotating exhibitions from the collection, which includes such classics as Where the Wild Things Are, In the Night Kitchen, Outside Over There, the Little Bear series, Brundibar, The Sign on Rosie's Door, We are All in the Dumps with Jack and Guy, A Hole Is to Dig, Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More To Life, and Dear Mili.
